Slipper Camps® was set up in early 2018 by Laura Wade, after spending the majority of her career working in marketing and business development in the legal sector in London.
In 2016 Laura and her husband moved to a new area for work reasons, so didn't know anyone locally. To change this, Laura decided to set up a new independent ladies group to meet new people. The group (Box Hill Dames) was formed in January 2017 and a lovely old school found to host it. The group quickly grew and enabled members to make new friends, have fun, expand their social horizons, try new activities, visit new places, hear interesting speakers, learn new skills and be inspired by others. In just over a year, the group had reached its membership capacity.
So that led Laura on to the idea of Slipper Camps® (being the complete opposite of boot camps!), where women could come, either on their own or with family/friends, and have a unique mini-break in a lovely area, whilst staying in a boutique country hotel with breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared by the chef and sourced from local produce, around a schedule of fun and creative workshops together with social and outdoor activities with other like-minded women. Details of the activities included can be found on the Activities page.
For women who choose to come to a Slipper Camp, there is no obligation to participate in every activity if they choose not to. They are very much for women on their own, or together with a family member or friend. No one is too old or too young to come to a Slipper Camp!
Dates for future Slipper Camps® can be found on the Prices and Dates page.
